Honeymoon Day 4: Just another day in paradise!

Today we woke up early (of course) and went and had breakfast at the Grinds cafe... Tasty greasy stuff!  After that we went to the Kauai coffee plantation, tasted some great coffee, and had a little tour while picking up a few choice sussies.
We decided to drive back to the north side of the island and hit Anini beach and pick up one more sussy... We drove through the rain all the way there, and when we got to the beach the fickle tropical weather just wasn't participating with us, so we headed back into Hanalei for lunch and a Tshirt from Bubba's Burgers where their slogan is "We relish your buns."  Since they don't have Hooters on this island, I thought it would be a good substitute souvie T for my dear ole dad.
Yesterday while we were waiting on the helicopter tour one of the locals told us we really had to try a Li Hing Mui shave ice, so we found a new place we hadn't had yet and placed our order.  OK... I'm not sure what the deal is with that but it tasted like pure salted evil.  It was red and speckled and one of the worst things I've ever tried.  BigAC turned green and gagged a little... We didn't want to be rude, so hopped in the car with the icy nastiness and drove about a half mile with it laughing our asses off the whole time until we could fine a trash can to dispose of the vile thing.  So much for being adventurous.
Since the weather on the north side of the island wasn't being nice to us, we headed back to our cottage on the southwestern side and decided to hit the pool after a stop for some fantastic chocolate macadamia nut ice cream at Lapperts.  It was rainy when we got back, so we camped out on our patio and read while the shower passed.  We made reservations at a fancy schmancy restaurant that was highly recommended by our guide book and then hit the pool for a few hours and swam and read.
Once pool time was over we got cleaned up and dressed in our nicer shorts for the nice restaurant and headed out.  We went to a place called Tidepools restaurant in the Grand Hyatt in Poipu... it was a way cool place sitting on top of a giant coy pond.  We got to feed the fish our bread (it was delicious and we were a bit reluctant to share, but alas we did).  I had swordfish and the hubby had prime rib and we got stuffed!
We camped out at the cottage and did some more reading and that was it for Day 4!  Tomorrow is our catamaran tour of the Na'Pali coast, so we'll be back up bright and early with our sea legs on for that!

That is all,
SBC

PS - sorry no pics for today... forgot the camera back at the cottage. I'll update tomorrow's with a few from today.
